The primary objective of the compliance function is to mitigate risk by proactively ensuring that all aspects of the company’s operations are conducted in compliance with the laws, regulations, internal rules and ethical standards. To that end, the compliance officer will identify and assess potential compliance risks and ensure the professional management (monitoring, mitigating and reporting) of those. Beyond legal requirements, the function also promotes ethical conduct within the organization. This involves fostering a corporate culture that values integrity and ethical behavior.
