Your area of work:

We are looking for a senior corporate lawyer to support our exciting Clearstream business.

Clearstream is an important player in the securities and funds services industry. It ensures that cash and securities are promptly and effectively delivered between trading parties. It also manages, safekeeps and administers the securities that it holds on behalf of its customers. In particular, Clearstream delivers state of the art solutions to standardise fund processing and to increase efficiency and safety in the investment funds sector. Its global funds processing platform Vestima provides access to all fund types from mutual funds to ETFs and hedge funds.

Our Group Legal department operates globally with colleagues in more than 10 different jurisdictions. We enjoy great recognition within the company not only for our high level of expertise, but also for our dynamic actions and commercial orientation. We are constantly adapting to changing conditions and also advise with expertise in areas such as DLT, crypto, AI and ESG. In your new position, you will be based in Luxembourg working in the Corporate & Commercial Legal team. The core of your activities will be to act as legal contact to support the activities of Clearstream Group companies in Luxembourg and abroad and take responsibility for the provision of legal advice focussing on corporate law and corporate governance matters. You will work independently in a team and see yourself as a business partner who always strives for the best legal solutions for the company. In addition to above-average legal skills, which you have been able to demonstrate and develop in practice, you also have a confident appearance in direct cooperation with senior decision-makers, for example.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will be providing comprehensive legal advice with a focus on corporate law and corporate governance matters in a regulatory context to various stakeholders, including boards and board members, within Clearstream Group in Luxembourg and abroad.
  • Besides advising on individual legal questions, you will be involved in projects, business initiatives, M&A-transactions and approval procedures with financial market regulators.
  • Furthermore, you will contribute to the implementation of requirements pursuant to new laws and regulations.
  • You will be working closely together with internal stakeholders in Clearstream business lines, other central functions and colleagues in Group Legal in Luxembourg and abroad.
  • You will take responsibility for the selection and coordination of external law firms.

Your profile:

  • Fully qualified lawyer holding a Master of Law degree or equivalent.
  • Several years of professional experience in a law firm or inhouse in Luxembourg with focus on Luxembourg corporate law.
  • Knowledge in Luxembourg regulatory matters will be considered a strong advantage, as well as in Luxembourg civil, commercial, banking and securities law.
  • First experience in securities services as well as investment services is an asset.
  • Pronounced willingness to learn and further develop.
  • Excellent communication skills, hands-on and ability to cope with challenges.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English. French and German will be considered an advantage.
