We are currently looking for an Junior Tax Litigator to join our Tier 1 Tax Dispute Resolution Team. Our team consists out of 16 lawyers and holds quite some expertise with Annick Visschers (Prof. Fiscale Hogeschool), Johan Speecke (Prof. UGent), Filip Smet, Alexander Baert (Prof. Fiscale Hogeschool) and Academic Advisors Raf Verstraeten (Prof. KUL) and Luc Debroe (Prof. KUL).

As part of our team, you will assist clients during tax audits / dawn raids, plead in court, negotiate with fiscal authorities and advise clients in terms of risk management. Our clients are, amongst others, multinationals, high net worth individuals, but at times, also small and medium enterprises.

Being embedded within the Deloitte network, our Tax Dispute Resolution Team offers a one-stop-service with truly integrated business solutions. Our in-house connections with tax, finance, consulting, strategy, risk advisory, technology and project management experts, with a strong presence of economists, are invaluable and leveraged on a daily basis for our Tax Dispute matters.

Let's talk about you

As a lawyer:

  • you hold a law degree – additional qualifications or international experience (Manama / LLM / MBA) are great assets;
  • you have 2 to 4 years of experience preferably in litigation, though if you are an excellent tax specialist, we would gladly provide you with the necessary training, as long as you are keen on developing yourself on the realm of litigation;
  • still, an additional degree in tax is a must;
  • your verbal and written communication is business-friendly, pragmatic and thoughtful while mastering Dutch and English fluently seeing our current portfolio. French is an additional asset

Going beyond that:

  • you are a team player with a great sense of humor;
  • you are able to work with highs and lows, as the workload is often less constant;
  • you are thus flexible and ready to jump into action when necessary;
  • you approach complex legal questions with an eye for detail and an innovative mindset;
