Komatsu Europe International NV (KEISA) in Vilvoorde is the European Headquarter of the Komatsu Group, which is based in Tokyo, Japan.  

Komatsu is the 2nd largest worldwide manufacturer of construction, mining and utility equipment, and also delivers forest machines and logistics. It has manufacturing operations across the globe, including in Japan, Asia, America and Europe.   

Komatsu Europe mainly consists of three main axes: a) manufacturing b) sales and marketing and c) retail finance.

What your future may hold 

As Senior Legal Counsel you provide legal services to Komatsu’s businesses and operations under the final supervision of the GM Legal. You will be based in Brussels (Vilvoorde) and will need to travel occasionally to the European subsidiaries of Komatsu.

You provide: 

  • Legal support to Komatsu’s Affiliates in Europe & Africa;  
  • Legal support to all Komatsu Business Units (ex. After-sales, logistics,…);  
  • Support in the overall legal compliance management of the Group’s activities (GDPR, competition law, Human Rights, ESG, …);  
  • Training on relevant legislation and procedures.

Your skillset 

  • You have a degree from an accredited Belgian law school; 
  • You have a minimum of 6 years’s experience with a focus on general corporate & commercial matters, with an international scope;
  • Knowledge of general commercial law (B2B), product safety law, competition law and data (protection law);  
  • A keen interest to general compliance matters;
  • You are a team player, self-confident and give clear and concise communication (ex. Translate legal language into business language);  
  • You are hands-on, able to work independently and to prioritize the key projects;
  • You are willing to travel occasionally (within Europe);
  • Fluent in Dutch and English;
