Description

Amazon's Operations Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to support our rapidly growing and evolving operations business. You will serve as the primary lawyer responsible for counselling the European workplace health and safety team on a broad range of regulatory and compliance matters. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to support Amazon’s Operations and the European Health & Safety team to develop industry leading safety solutions for our employees and service providers. The work is intellectually challenging, exciting and fast-paced.

Key job responsibilities

As Corporate Counsel, you will be responsible for monitoring and advising the business of upcoming regulatory changes, providing day-to-day guidance to the health and safety team, and resolving issues that arise during regulatory interactions. You will be also in charge of developing and improving compliance policies and procedures and working cross-functionally with technology teams to implement automated solutions.

We are looking for candidates who are innovative, progressive, extremely hands-on, and highly customer-obsessed professionals. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, pragmatic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Basic qualifications

  • Outstanding academic qualifications.
  • 5+ years post-qualification legal experience.
  • Excellent English, both spoken and written.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with workplace safety or compliance legal matters.
  • Experience working with regulators.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and computer skills.
