Hogan Lovells promotes Charles-Henri Bernard to counsel in Banking and Finance practice

Global law firm Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that Charles-Henri Bernard has been promoted to counsel in the Brussels office’s Banking and Finance practice, effective 1 January 2025.

Charles-Henri advises on Belgian and EU financial services regulation, provides guidance on the restructuring of financial institutions, and represents lenders and borrowers in complex financing arrangements. He also works with alternative investment funds and corporates on structuring, transactional, and regulatory matters.

Having begun his legal career in 2013, Charles-Henri joined Hogan Lovells’ Brussels office in 2021. In addition to his practice, he serves as an assistant lecturer in Corporate Law at the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL).

Philip Van Steenwinkel, Head of the Brussels Banking and Finance team, commented: “Charles-Henri is one of the few lawyers in the Belgian market who excels in both financial regulations and transactional work. His ability to operate at the intersection of business and regulation aligns perfectly with Hogan Lovells’ DNA.”

Christopher Thomas, Managing Partner of the Brussels office, added: “Charles-Henri has played a key role in driving the strong growth of our Brussels Banking and Finance practice. He’s a remarkable lawyer with a keen focus on client service. Congratulations, Charles-Henri!”

Charles-Henri’s promotion is part of Hogan Lovells’ 2025 round of global promotions.
