Five new Counsel appointed in our Brussels office

Reflecting our commitment to excellence and growth in Belgium, we are delighted to announce the appointment of five accomplished lawyers as Counsel within Loyens & Loeff. This significant step aligns with our ambition to enhance our team of experts. Our new Counsel, embodying our values of being people-centered, trusted as a partner, and professional, will bolster our ability to provide personal and sector-specific advice, reinforcing our position as a leading firm in the market.

Bram Devlies has been with Loyens & Loeff for eight years, establishing himself as a standout energy lawyer and a key member of the Energy & Infrastructure practice. His commitment to the industry, his expertise in energy projects, energy contracts, and regulatory aspects, have made him an essential part of our firm.

Sarah Libregts has been with the firm for over ten years and is an invaluable asset in the Banking & Finance team. Her broad experience in international and local secured finance transactions, project finance and capital markets has made her a key member of the team. In addition, her niche expertise in asset-based finance, in particular securitisations, is highly valued.

Mélanie Schollaert is a valued member of our Corporate practice group for ten years. She has developed a strong experience in M&A, Private Equity, and corporate governance. Her pivotal role in the Region Team France underscores her importance to our firm.

Clémence Van Muylder
has joined Loyens & Loeff in 2021, bringing her strong experience in white-collar crime, corporate investigations, and compliance to the Litigation & Risk Management practice group. As a co-head of the multi-disciplinary Corporate Criminal Defence Team, she is considered a key-player and go-to expert within the firm.

Last but not least, we are also very pleased to welcome Stijn Verbeke. Stijn has joined the Real Estate practice group and will work as well in close cooperation with the E&I group to enhance and expand our firm’s proficiency in Real Estate, Environmental and Administrative Law. Stijn is a former colleague and, with over 25 years of experience in public real estate and environmental matters, brings a significant depth of experience to the firm and our clients.
