The team

Liedekerke’s international arbitration practice is made up of 10 lawyers advising and representing clients in international arbitration proceedings, arbitration-related court cases and international disputes.

With extensive expertise in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, we also play a leading role in arbitration-related court proceedings in Belgium and abroad, including enforcement and setting-aside actions.

Your role

As a lawyer in our International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution team, you will:

  • represent clients before major arbitral institutions (ICC, LCIA, SIAC, ICSID) and in ad hoc proceedings
  • handle setting-aside and enforcement of arbitral awards and foreign judgments in Belgian and European courts
  • defend clients in Belgian, EU, and other European courts
  • advise on disputes related to a wide range of matters, including commercial contracts, M&A, engineering & construction, and international law
  • collaborate with other practices on dispute resolution and international matters

What we look for

We are looking for a bright associate who has:

  • an outstanding knowledge of French and English
  • excellent results at a Belgian university and an experience abroad (Erasmus or LL.M. a strong plus)
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in dispute resolution, with a marked interest for international disputes and arbitration
  • strong analytical, organisational, and editorial skills
  • nice to work with, problem-solver, with a hands-on attitude
  • eager to learn, client-focused, and highly motivated

Start date: As soon as possible

Location: Brussels, with the option to also work from our Antwerp office.
