Your role

The postdoctoral researcher will be working under the supervision of Professor Silvia Allegrezza within the framework of the NCER-FinTech centre (https://www.uni.lu/research-en/ncer/fintech/). In particular, the Postdoctoral Researcher will be in charge of:

  • Realize research in the field of criminal law and criminal procedure, (European and comparative criminal law and criminal procedure; in particular on confiscation)
  • Publication of articles in scientific reviews and contributions to conferences
  • Assisting with teaching activities, one to three hours a week and contribute to tutoring students

Your profile

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Criminal Law or Financial or banking law, preferably with a specialization in financial crimes (N.B. applications from PhD candidates who will have started their final year of doctoral studies before that date may be considered).

In particular, the following requirements apply:

  • Strong interest in European Criminal Justice and financial investigation
  • Proven ability to autonomously conduct research at a post-doctoral level
  • Good IT skills
  • Proven ability to work individually as well as part of a team
  • Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in either English or French, good understanding of the second language and possibly a third language
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
