General Counsel

As General Counsel, you will:

• Lead the legal department with vision and purpose, ensuring the delivery of top-tier legal support across the company’s operations.
• Assess legal risks but also present practical solutions that align with our business objectives 
• Provide legal advice on key corporate matters, including company financing, governance, strategic partnerships and M&A.
• Play a crucial role in organizing and preparing for shareholder and board meetings, and act as the company secretary.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel to deliver cost-effective, high-quality legal services.
• Keep the legal team informed about relevant legal developments and ensure proper implementation and training across the company.
• Continuously strive for a lean, yet highly effective legal operation that prioritizes results without unnecessary complexity.
• Cultivate a strong team culture, fostering urgency, motivation, and collaboration across the department, including working closely with operational teams and executives.

• You have a Belgian master's degree in law and at least 10 years of legal experience in commercial and / or corporate law with the ability to manage a broad range of legal issues across multiple areas.
• You are fluent in English and Dutch.
• You have experience in the diagnostics, pharmaceutical and life science industry or other regulated sectors. 
• You have experience in an international company or within a global environment.
• You are comfortable with communicating and working with a board of directors, particularly those based in the US.
• You have strong interpersonal skills and a hands-on mentality.
