Profile: 

  • You are bilingual in Dutch and in French and fluent in English 
  • Up to seven years of experience in the competition and European law department of a reputed business law firm 
  • You hold a Belgian law degree with enviable academic results with a Master or LLM in European law 
  • Strong analytical skills and a creative mind, taking initiatives and having a real interest in business life 
  • Accuracy and rigor are two of your qualities 
  • You are a team-player 

Main responsibilities: 

  • Advise companies, public authorities and national and international groups in several areas of EU and competition law, such as State aid, merger control, antitrust, FDI and FSR 
  • Cooperate with the various foreign CMS law firms and the different CMS Belgium departments, to experience the multi-jurisdictional and multidisciplinary approach of cases 
  • Manage files from start to finish, act with a satisfying degree of independence, under the supervision of a partner 
  • Assist to client meetings 
  • Intervene in procedures before the European Commission, the Belgian Competition Authority, the Court of Justice of the EU and national jurisdictions
