Role description

SES is looking for an Associate Legal Counsel in our Betzdorf HQ. In this role, you will provide assistance in all legal and contractual matters to support the activities of the Commercial Legal Services team.

You will act as a trusted business partner to the commercial teams and provide proactive, value-added legal support on commercial matters to enable deals. You will actively advise and counsel on legal issues, including risk assessments and avoidance, as well as on strategic commercial initiatives.

In your day to day, you will also provide support and guidance on a variety of legal matters to other company divisions on an as-needed basis.

You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

Structure, draft, negotiate and finalize contracts and responses to tenders ensuring compliance with applicable national and international laws and regulations
Conduct research and draft memoranda in various legal fields, including competition law
Provide assistance to SES’s affiliates and subsidiaries on legal aspects as requested
Provide support and advice in legal matters in various functions, including transactional work
Ability to communicate succinctly, diplomatically and credibly at all levels within the organisation
Collaborative individual, able to build relationships across all levels and functions of the organisation
Clear and candid communicator able to produce and present to a variety of internal and external audiences
Provide timely and effective legal advice to the commercial groups in support of their respective projects, contracts and initiatives including bids and public/private partnership initiatives

Your profile

Must Have

Master’s degree or LLM in law
Bar qualification would be of advantage
One to three years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or legal department of a company
Fluency in English, both oral and written

Nice to Have

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Experience in the telecommunication/media sector
