The Editions Lefebvre-Sarrut Group (ELS), a European leader in the knowledge economy, accelerates its development on the legal, tax and accounting markets in Belgium.
The Group’s Belgian subsidiary, ELS Belgium, the major legal and professional publishing and services provider which publishes under the Larcier and Indicator names, is extending its range of services on the Belgian market through the acquisition of Intersentia, a leading legal, tax and accounting publisher in Flanders.
ELS Belgium is pleased to announce the acquisition of Intersentia, and the creation of a truly bilingual legal, tax and accounting services provider for the Belgian market.
This acquisition strongly reinforces ELS Belgium’s current portfolio of publications and tools serving the large number of legal, tax and compliance professionals across Belgium. This development is central to the Company’s strategy to accelerate its development on the Belgian market.
“Intersentia’s product portfolio perfectly complements Larcier’s and Indicator’s position on the Belgian market” declared ELS Belgium’s CEO Peter Bosschem. “Intersentia’s excellent, well-established reputation and vast portfolio on the Flemish legal market bring a valuable asset to the Group. The result is the first truly bilingual publishing group which fully respects both main language groups in Belgium.”
Hans Kluwer, former owner of Intersentia declared “the Intersentia team is looking forward to working with ELS Belgium, in particular on the technological evolution that the publishing industry is undergoing. Our future is digital. By joining forces, ELS Belgium and Intersentia strengthen their capacity to continue to innovate for the benefit of both our customers and authors.”
“ELS Belgium welcomes Hans Kluwer, Kris Moeremans, Pieter Van de Wiele and their teams to our Group. Intersentia is a reference name in legal publishing in Belgium. Together we will leverage our combined strengths in innovative products and services and accelerate our development in order to offer an ever-better service to our authors and subscribers” added Paul-Etienne Pimont, Managing Director of the ELS Belgium’s legal division.
