Designation of the President of the Belgian Competition Authority

The Council of Ministers has decided to propose the nomination of Mr Axel Desmedt as President of the Belgian
Competition Authority. Mr Desmedt was a member of the Council of the Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications (BIPT) between 2009 and 2023.

The Executive Committee and all the members of the Belgian Competition Authority are delighted by this important decision for the functioning of the institution and the continuity of its missions. 

The Executive Committee would like to express its sincere gratitude to the assessors who have chaired the panels of the Competition College pending the appointment of a new President.
