In support of its continued growth, Elicio is looking to recruit a Legal Counsel to strengthen its Legal team.

Description of the vacancy

The Legal Counsel shall, under the supervision of the Director Legal Affairs and together with other team members, mainly focus on providing legal support to the business development teams in all countries in which Elicio is active, with a focus on Belgium and France. He/She will be working in a young inspiring team offering a unique working atmosphere.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Providing legal support in relation with the development of onshore and offshore wind energy projects.
  • Drafting and negotiating different types of commercial contracts (such as supplier contracts, cooperation agreements, MoUs, NDAs, etc.).
  • Drafting and negotiating contracts for land securing.
  • Assisting with permit application.
  • Following-up on legal proceedings consequent to legal challenge of permits and manage litigation files (in concertation with Company’s external lawyers).
  • Giving legal support on consenting, energy law and environmental matters in relation with the development of Elicio’s renewable onshore and offshore wind energy projects.
  • Following-up on new legislation and regulatory matters
  • Providing legal support in tender processes.
  • Managing external legal advisors/lawyers and budgets
  • Cooperating with the different divisions of the Elicio Group
  • Cooperating with external advisors and participate in stakeholder organization meetings.

Profile

  • Master degree in Law
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative, ‘down to earth’ environment
  • Manage a (small) team (currently 2 people)
  • Fluent in Dutch, English and French.
  • Diligent, proactive, and solution-oriented attitude
  • Analytical, highly accurate and organized, yet flexible
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills
  • Resilient to stress in front of deadlines
  • Willingness to continuously develop professional skills and to maintain up to date knowledge on relevant legal matters.
