Join us as a Deputy Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer

  • This is an opportunity to take on a critical and high-profile role within our risk function, with exposure to other jurisdictions and the opportunity to work on both compliance and financial crime matters
  • We’ll look to you to act as a trusted adviser to the business and support management in its understanding and ownership of compliance and financial crime risks

What you'll do

In this role, you’ll provide pragmatic, commercial solutions to advisory, conduct and regulatory issues and give support on financial crime matters, reporting and advising disclosures to our internal and external regulators.

We’ll also look to you to identify and manage potential or actual conduct and compliance risks and deliver a high quality, comprehensive prevention focused intelligence function within financial crime. In addition, you’ll establish effective working relationships with colleagues across the bank to promote early engagement with them regarding any change in risk policy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating an appropriate work environment to ensure the delivery of fair outcomes for our customers in discharging the bank’s responsibility to deliver good customer outcomes
  • Giving support advice, MI and escalating to leaders and the business on risk management, providing regulatory compliance and conduct insight, oversight and challenge
  • Working with colleagues to make sure that risks are appropriately managed within the business area and making sure the offshore business avoids any regulatory criticism
  • Making sure that all processes and procedures adopted reflect the research and interpretation of regulatory bodies rules and guidance, and industry best practice
  • Supporting the wider team in times of incidents and share knowledge, views and ideas and take a full and active part in progressing the aims of the risk team across the organisation
  • Delivering expert services and specialist advice on intelligence financial risks of our products and services

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll need previous experience in compliance and financial crime in Luxembourg, proven ability to read and understand Luxembourg and EU legislation, alongside an excellent capacity to define policies and processes with the ability to work closely with key stakeholders to implement them across the business. Previous experience in successfully delivering regulatory change in complex organisations would be advantageous, as well as having Luxembourg or International Certifications in Compliance (ALCO, ICA).

We’ll also expect you to have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and good written and verbal communication skills.

In addition, you’ll need:

  • Knowledge of relevant legal policies, regulatory and statutory obligations, risk management and management of the internal governance framework
  • Good knowledge of risk management practices and a methodical approach to managing risks through to mitigation
  • Experience of working internationally, or delivering products that have an international dimension
