The Department of Law of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg is looking for a Postdoctoral researcher to conduct research in the area of Tech Law.

Your role...

In particular, the Postdoctoral Researcher will be active in:

  • Joint research projects with the colleagues in Tech Law (Professors Mark Cole, Mahulena Hofmann, Martin Stierle, Niovi Vavoula as well as Prof. hon. Jean-Louis Schiltz and their research teams)
  • Publication of articles in scientific reviews and contributions to conferences in the area of TechLaw in coordination with the research group which can include co-authored work
  • Assisting with teaching activities (on average, one to three hours a week) and contribute to tutoring students
  • Assisting in the coordination of research activities in the Tech Law research area

Qualifications...

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Law, preferably on a topic related to the fields covered by the research area. (N.B. applications from PhD candidates who will have started their final year of doctoral studies before that date may be considered).

In particular, the following requirements apply:

  • Strong interest in Tech law (including, but not limited to, AI law, Cyberlaw and -policy, IP law, IT law, Media law, Space law)
  • Proven ability to autonomously conduct research at a post-doctoral level
  • Proven ability to work individually as well as part of a team
  • Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in either English or French, good understanding of the second language and possibly a third language, German in particular, will be considered an advantage
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Good IT skills
