Legal Services Director (Temporary 12 Months)

In CBRE Investment Accounting and Reporting Solutions we are hiring for an Associate Director - EMEA Legal to join our team for a temporary contract of 12 Months.

To provide legal and strategic advice to CBRE’s Investment Accounting & Reporting (“IA&R”) business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (“EMEA”). The candidate will play a key role in developing and sustaining legal risk management initiatives for IA&R across the region while furthering the Group’s commercial goals.

This role is a high visibility position requiring coordination across multiple jurisdictions and continuous engagement with various levels of the Group’s personnel in Luxembourg, the UK and across EMEA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement governance framework for routine review, drafting and negotiation of all types of contracts related to IA&R services, including NDAs, subcontracts, local country agreements, license agreements, real estate and project management agreements, Central Admin Agreements, consulting agreements, etc. Significant focus on Luxembourg.
  • Draft and negotiate selected non-routine, complex local, pan-European and global commercial contracts, master service agreements and framework agreements for the IA&R business, including commercial agreements with high revenue banking and property investor clients.
  • Work autonomously and efficiently to deliver legal solutions to support the development of the IA&R business across EMEA with a focus on Luxembourg.
  • Create and maintain internal precedent document templates.
  • Liaise directly with the IA&R senior leadership team to propose and take forward legal initiatives which will benefit and support the business.
  • Develop and deliver live and web-based training programs to legal and IA&R business colleagues on a range of legal and business risk issues.
  • Provide ad hoc advice to, and collaborate with, legal, operational and commercial colleagues across EMEA (predominantly in the UK) with respect to all aspects of the IA&R business and internal operations.
  • Create and maintain a network of external legal partners as applicable
  • Ensure cooperation with the Legal function in the EMEA region and globally.

What are we looking for?

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years PQE
  • Commercial Real Estate experience
  • Experience working in a multi-national organisation
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently, proactively and co-operatively
  • Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Willingness to work on tight timeframes at a fast pace, including accommodating different time zones on global transactions
  • Accurate and exceptional attention to detail
  • Professional and approachable whilst also being adaptable
  • Team player who deals effectively with colleagues
